How Do I Use Blunder Cover
Apply Blunder Cover on a clean, moisturized face using our Hybrid Cream Brush, Call your Buff Angled Brush, or tool of your choice. Buff the product in a circular motion starting at the center of the face. You can sheer the product over your skin for natural coverage or build it up in targeted areas for more coverage, as well as use it to touch-up throughout the day! Monika recommends using one shade lighter under the eyes for an overall brightening effect, and two shades darker to contour and add definition to the face.
Is Blunder Cover Non-Comedogenic?
We use ingredients that include skin nourishing botanicals such as edelweiss, arnica, chamomile, sunflower, aloe and rosemary. We also use zero to low comedogenic oils that are rich in omega-3 acids to help fight free radicals. The oils used are castor, safflower and a very small amount of soybean.
Why do you use Microcrystalline Wax?
We consider Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microcristallina) a “safe synthetic” ingredient, meaning it is synthetic but still safe for your skin and the planet. This specific ingredient is produced during petroleum refinement using specified techniques such as distillation, de-oiling and crystallization. Both Sephora and Credo allow the use of this material on their clean list and Microcrystalline Waxes are non-toxic, non-irritating.
I am finding Blunder Cover hard to work with or not giving me the results I was looking for. How can I fix this?
Blunder Cover has a different texture than most foundations and was developed by a professional makeup artist that admittedly designed it with more of an artist-forward perspective. One of the biggest differences between some of the other foundations and Blunder Cover, is that it has a unique balm or very thick cream texture. Our products are formulated with highly effective clean ingredients that include botanicals, oils and no fragrance.
When it comes to applying Blunder Cover, since it is more solid than other foundations, having a well prepped face with a bit of a slip (using an oil, salve or rich moisturizer underneath) is very important, and you should work to build the product up in very thin layers with a buffing brush or sponge. Blunder Cover is an oil-based product so an oil-based moisturizer or face oil works especially well for this. Once applied, it should have a dewy, flawless finish.
How do I clean Blunder Cover?
To clean your Blunder Cover, simply take an alcohol wipe or paper towel sprayed with rubbing alcohol on it, and wipe down the top of the product as well as the sides of the jar and the lid. This will sanitize Blunder Cover, making it perfectly clean for the next use.
How do I clean my Monika Blunder Beauty brushes?
To clean your Monika Blunder Beauty brushes, we recommend using a brush cleaner or shampoo. Wet your brush with cool (never hot) water, and lather in some soap, swirling the brush in circles on your palm. Rinse and repeat until the bubbles are totally white. Gently press the water out of the bristles and reshape with your fingers. Lay the brush with the bristles hanging over the edge of your counter — never let your wet brushes dry upright in a cup! This will cause the glue to loosen. We recommending cleaning your personal brushes after every other use or so.

Are your products “all-natural”?
We are committed to creating the best and most effective products for your skin, and products that are gentle to the environment. This sometimes means that synthetic ingredients are the best option. Just because an ingredient is found in nature doesn’t mean it’s something you want on your skin — like poison ivy! While it is true that many synthetic ingredients are toxic or harmful, there are a lot of “safe synthetic” ingredients out there, and sometimes these are the best option available for both your skin and the planet. Rest assured that we consciously and intentionally choose every ingredient that goes into our products so that they are the best option available for your skin, the planet, and the efficacy of the products we create.
