We consider Microcrystalline Wax (Cera Microcristallina) a "safe synthetic" ingredient — synthetic but still safe for your skin and the planet. It is produced during petroleum refinement via distillation, de-oiling, and crystallization. Both Sephora and Credo allow this material on their clean lists, and Microcrystalline Waxes are non-toxic and non-irritating.
